Ancient,
mysterious carvings in rock, called petroglyphs, have been found on many
Caribbean islands. The designs are generally attributed to various
Amerindians, including the Taino and Arawak, who inhabited these islands
before Columbus rowed ashore.
One particular petroglyph, found on St. John,
has been widely reproduced. It is etched onto rock along the famous
Reef Bay Trail in the Virgin Islands National Park.
With due respect to the Amerindians and their
descendants, Moon Mosaic presents our interpretation of this lovely design.
Handcrafted in Sterling Silver, each piece is an island treasure.
